In this Parenting Life Series entry, we'll be featuring a mom who takes her profession seriously. A certified mom boss and wife to an amazing firefighter.

More than being a mom, she also assists women in their online entrepreneurial journey by offering her tailored services. I've been following her journey on her Instagram page and was immediately inspired by her and her entrepreneurial spirit. She also has this intentional hustle mindset that we should all be trying to emulate as parents.

Short Bio:

Kim Reyes is an Online Business Manager and Virtual Assistant supporting women entrepreneurs who are serious about growing their businesses. She loves music, languages, and immersing in different cultures. But, among the many hats she wears, her favorites are as a firefighter’s wife and
mom of three minis. She writes about juggling all her roles joyfully in and
shares bits and pieces of their beautiful mess on Instagram and Facebook.

1. How would you describe your parenting style?

I always joke that if there are such things as helicopter parenting and free-range parenting, I’d describe ours as free-fall parenting. LOL! But really, I don’t think we fall inside any category because we just go with the flow of our children. After having three, we’ve come to realize that each child is unique so we adapt our parenting style on how they can best be raised.

2. What values would you want to pass on to your kids?

Kindness, Integrity, and Grit.

3. What do you enjoy most about being a mother?

The whole experience of it. It’s painful and beautiful at the same time. I feel like I’m growing as a person every day because of it

4. How do you encourage a close relationship with your child/children?

I make sure I spend one-on-one time with each of them where we can catch-up or just goof around.

5. What extreme challenge/s have you encountered as a parent and how did/do you dealwith it?

It’s feeling like “I’ve got this!” after a long time of figuring things out then needing to
start learning again because your kids have entered a new phase. At one point, I felt like a
failure because I can’t seem to do it right. But then I realized that parenting is continuous
learning with your children.

6. What is the best parenting tip or advice can you give to a new parent?

It’s great that we have lots of resources out there and lots of people around us to give advice, but you know your kid the most so trust your instincts. AND - just because another parent seems to be doing
something better doesn’t mean they are better as parents. You have your own path to walk.
