sabrina andres of all about sab ph

I'm extremely glad to feature one of my Instagram friends to my Parenting Life Series, Sabrina
Andres. Sab is a lifestyle and beauty blogger, and a 100% glam mom.

What I appreciate about Sab is that she's still able to put her parenting front and center, despite having a busy schedule of attending beauty and lifestyle events. She's definitely owning up to the glam mom lifestyle. If you see her IG page, you'll realize that Sab is making a bold statement, and that is motherhood shouldn't stop you from looking your best, even on your busiest days.

All About Sab Ph

Name: Sabrina Andres
Number and age of children: A son who is 7 years old
Favorite parenting quote: "Be who you needed when you were young."

Short Bio:

A night owl work-at-home mom who tries balancing motherhood, career growth, and blogger duties in ways only my husband can describe. lol!

1. How would you describe your parenting style?

I am an authoritative parent. I make sure that my son understands why there are rules that he needs to follow, and that there are consequences on every action he makes whether good or bad. I also would like to think that I am quite the competitive mom, but I always make sure that my son isn't pressured to be perfect in everything that he does.

2. What values would you want to pass on to your kids?

I have always taught my son to always be kind. Whether it's as simple as greeting the guards upon entering the mall or saying thank you when a service crew gives him his order. A small act of kindness can change the world, even if it's a small percentage.

3. What do you enjoy most about being a father/mother?

I enjoy witnessing every milestone of my son. It makes me feel that I must have done something right.

4. How do you encourage a close relationship with your child/children?

My husband and I always tell our son to be honest with us. We encourage him to share his thoughts and opinions. We converse with him like a normal person (my son sometimes thinks he's an adult) yet we make him feel that he'll forever be our baby. He's our only son, so we make sure that we have a close relationship with him (hopefully till he gets old).

5. What extreme challenge/s have you encountered as a parent and how did/do you deal with it?

Whenever my son only listens to his dad (or another relative). My son is a mama's boy and he loves me very much. However, there are times that he'd disobey me or you know, make things hard for me -- like waking up in the morning, moving fast to avoid getting late for school.

I usually spank him, and then explain what he did wrong. Sometimes, I tell him that I get hurt whenever he disobeys because it's as if he doesn't love me. I also talk to him and tell him how hard it is to work at night and still prepare in the morning just to make sure he's ready when the school bus arrives. Of course, there are worst cases that I have to shout at the top of my lungs just to make him listen/obey.

6. What is the best parenting tip or advice can you give to a new parent?

Always remember that every child is different; what can work for others may or may not work for you.

Do not compare nor compete when it comes to parenting styles. As they say, "to each his own".

Appreciate the help of your elders; you'll love them more when you want to catch a nap while they look after your child.

Lastly, relax! I'm sure you'll do just fine! :)
